HYDERABAD: University of Hyderabad (UoH) students sat on a one-day hunger strike in front of the varsity main gate on Monday in support of the farmer’s agitation in north India. The students, led by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), sat on hunger strike against the three farm laws introduced by the central government. Students raised slogans against the central government and demanded the release of all the arrested farmers and protestors. Two country-made revolvers have been recovered, police said. Telangana government issues GO on implementing EWS quota – Times of India

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has issued orders on Monday implementing 10 per cent reservations for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the state run educational institutions and in initial appointments in the state government posts. A GO (No 33) has been issued by chief secretary Somesh Kumar saying that necessary guidelines and rules for implementing the quota would be issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) and education departments separately. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao last month announced that the state government would implement 10 per cent EWS in the state.
