Delhi University new academic session to start from August 10 with online classes – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University has said that it will begin the 2020-2021 academic session from August 10 with online classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university had announced summer vacations till August 9. In a notification on Thursday, it said, "The Academic Session 2020-2021 of the university will commence from August 10 with start of online classes for the III, V and VII semester of UG courses and III semester of PG courses subject to the prevailing pandemic or any other exigency." The Delhi University will be holding online open book exams from August 10 for final year students, amid opposition from students and teachers. Finance minister: Banks cannot refuse credit to MSMEs covered under emergency credit facility | India Business News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said banks cannot refuse credit to MSMEs under the emergency credit facility and any refusal should be reported. As of July 23, 2020, the total amount sanctioned under the 100 per cent Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme by public sector banks and private banks stands at Rs 1,30,491.79 crore, of which Rs 82,065.01 crore has already been disbursed. "Banks cannot refuse credit to MSMEs covered under emergency credit facility. If refused, such instances must be reported. I will look into it," Sitharaman said at a closed-door event of industry chamber Ficci. CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Friday decided to allow provisional admission of as many as 31,022 open category candidates in Class XI in schools as regular students. However, such students will have to take the examinations of Class X when the Covid-19 situation becomes normal. Punjab school education minister Vijay Inder Singla informed that the matriculation result of regular students was declared by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on the basis of continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE) but the result of open school students was upheld as these students are not covered under CCE criteria.
